The 32-core M-series chipset was previously rumored for a future revision of the Mac Pro desktop, which if accurate, could radically transform Apple’s pro-grade workstation into a monster gaming rig.Īpple’s push into gaming also appears to be a natural evolution of the company’s business strategy. Apple likely wants to repeat history for the Mac. Gaming apps, after all, became a big catalyst for the iPhone’s early success when Apple brought the App Store to its smartphones. However, with rumors swirling that future iterations of the M-series chips could come with as many as 16 or 32 graphics cores, Apple’s venture into gaming shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise. ![]() Apple will take the contrarian approach here, eschewing more powerful discrete GPUs for integrated graphics with the M-series. This is different from traditional PC gaming systems, which oftentimes are outfitted with powerful discrete graphics cards, like Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3000 series or rival AMD’s Radeon RX 6000 series. Like Apple’s A-series processors on the iPhones and iPads that have turned the company’s smartphones and tablets into very capable portable consoles for casual gaming on the go, the M-series Mac CPUs combine ARM processing cores with custom integrated graphics cores. With the 13-inch MacBook Pro delivering a stated battery life of 20 hours - Apple nearly doubled what was previously possible on a comparable Intel build - as well as subsequent reviews of the laptop that showed performance was no slouch, Apple is now setting a third goal for its M-series processors: Bringing gaming to the Mac. ![]() In order to make the M1 processor a compelling switch for the company and devoted Mac fans, Bob Borchers, Apple vice president of worldwide product marketing, said that Macs have to retain strong battery life and deliver solid performance with Rosetta for emulation to make the transition from Intel CPUs as seamless as possible. While DJI dominates the consumer drone market, especially in the field of drones for aerial photography, there have been a plethora of smaller drone manufacturers trying to establish themselves in the budget friendly drone niche, one of these companies are Eachine and they have an impressive list of drones that are cheap and perfect for beginners. This does not mean that it is not a good drone, in fact, at its price point it is probably one of the best budget friendly drones and is especially a good choice for beginners and casual fliers. However, the way they look is where the similarities end as the Eachine E58 drone does not come with all the features that you will find in the DJI Mavic. This is the reason why there are many cheaper alternatives to the DJI Mavic and the one that most closely resembles the Mavic is the Eachine E58. However, as popular as it is, it’s still priced beyond what a lot of people would pay for a drone, especially if they do not need all the advanced features it comes with. One of my favorite drones is the DJI mavic, it looks great with its foldable design, platinum Grey colour scheme and powerful features like the 4K camera and obstacle avoidance system. ![]() ![]() It looks very much like a clone of the DJI Mavic but without the powerful features or the huge price tag. Welcome to my review of the Eachine E58 drone, if you are a DJI fan, then this drone will look very familiar. ![]() There are three sorts: roads, settlements and cities. We particularly like the little wooden pieces in Settlers of Catan. This particular facet of the game means that it often takes ages to get through a turn in our family! One of our kids will never deal with other people, while another one of them will take ages bargaining for resources in order to get the cards that they need. The gameplay is enhanced by the way that on your turn, if you don't have the resources you need in order to do what you need to do, you can barter with other players, offer card exchanges, and haggle about what you need in order to make the game work for you. These can then be used to purchase other materials or special cards which develop your settlement. The luck of the die throw drives these resources and determines how many settlements and roads you can build, which in turn accrue more resources. You need the right materials to build houses and roads and gain victory points. Settlers of Catan is a combination of strategy and resource management. The kit comes with a great Almanac which describes all the complexities very clearly. There's a lot of rules and, again, in the first instance these do seem a bit overwhelming, but once you've played the game a couple of times the gameplay is actually quite simple. The board is built from hexagonal pieces which join together like a jigsaw, and while there's a suggested set-up for these, you can in fact play with them in any configuration that you like, which means the game can be different each time you play. Game set-up can take a while until you get used to it. There are rule variations for playing with larger groups of people and these are clearly explained in the extension packs. As well as the original Settlers of Catan, you can buy the Seafarers, Cities and Knights, and Traders and Barbarians extensions to the game, which add extra dimensions. This does make the game seem quite expensive but we still think it is worth it. ![]() The basic Settlers box costs around £25, but if, like us, you regularly play with a family of more than four people, you will also want the 5/6 player expansion pack, for a further £15. ![]() Some of the songs were chosen in the early stages of pre-production and others came later once into the edit. "The idea of featuring Stevie’s isolated vocals over the end titles felt very significant and connected to the place where Diana found herself at the end of the episode." This led to us trying it over the end which felt both beautiful and haunting," she says. The next AMD Ryzen in line is the R7 1700X, this one would again get 8 cores and 16 threads but this time at a Turbo frequency of 3.80 GHz, so yes this is pretty much the same processor, just with a lower base and Turbo frequency albeit the turbo on this model is again not confirmed. Both R7 1700X and 1800x are focused at enthusiast and professional usage and the price for the 1700X would be 469.99 euros . These are unlocked (multiplier) processors. Now keep in mind (if the perf is close) a similar 8-core Intel CPU would cost you about 1,200 euros, the cost for the flasgship Ryzen R7 1800X processor would be 599.99 euros. The boost frequencies are not confirmed, but the indications we have seen the past few weeks would state a 4.0 GHz Turbo and 3.6 Ghz base clock. This is the flagship processor and it has has 8 cores with 16 threads and is assumed to get a Boost frequency of 4.00 GHz. The metal lunch box craze lasted until the mid-1980s, when plastic (and for a short time, vinyl) took over. Kids would beg for a new lunch box every year to keep up with the newest characters, even if their old lunch box (So long, Ariel!) was perfectly usable. The new trend was also a great example of planned obsolescence, Woodall adds. His favorite? He's the founder and curator of the Lunch Box Museum in Columbus, Ga. "The Partridge Family, the Addams Family, the Six Million Dollar Man, the Bionic Woman - everything that was on television ended up on a lunch box," says Allen Woodall. It was a major "Ah-ha!" moment, and a wave of other manufacturers jumped on board to capitalize on new TV shows and movies. The company sold 600,000 units the first year. They lacquered lunch boxes with striking red paint and added a picture of TV and radio cowboy Hopalong Cassidy on the front. So executives at Aladdin hit on an idea that would harness the newfound popularity of television. Hopalong Cassidy was a popular TV, radio and comic series. This steel lunch box, made by Aladdin Industries in 1950, was the first to bear a licensed image, and helped Aladdin launch a new product line that would last for decades.
